Entering the dissipating fog of fragments light
In the face of reality, we unconsciously piece together its other metaphors. The elements not facing themselves are those intangible emotions and imaginations, liberated from the constraints of the present reality and space-time from the moment they connect with the sea of memories that accompany their fall. These summoned fragments lurk beneath consciousness like hidden currents, ready at any moment to replace or reconstruct our sensory perceptions of reality. The richness of our experiences with things enhances the thickness of our lives, as the free consciousness extends like mountain ridges into a boundless world.
In the faint glow of dawn, there is an anticipation of a beautiful future;
In the alternation of familiar faces, the sediment of past times lingers;
In buried memories, the most brilliant flowers are planted.
Memory and sensation serve as the themes, with everyday life's visual elements as the content of creation, blending nature with reality, memory with dreams, emotion with perception, enveloping us like a mist. Observing various phenomena in our daily lives and "depicting" these pulsating moments, the perceived images are consolidated into corresponding hues, linking color palettes with visual images and olfactory memories. The theory of color psychology suggests that different colors have profound effects on emotions, moods, cognition, and behavior. By translating the current sensory perceptions into tangible works of art through different acrylic painting techniques, the artist interprets nuanced emotional memories. When pigments become extensions of sensation, canvases become carriers, and the blending of colors, flowing luster, layered stacking, and three-dimensional textures give inorganic pigments a vivid and profound significance in life.
Using painting tools to express subtle differences and connect them in a sensually changing imaginative space, this process inevitably brings to mind the three-tiered changes in fragrance: independent colors/scents, connected visual structures/scent combinations, capable of integrating entirely different sensory experiences. Therefore, in this exhibition, there will be four pieces presented in the form of a combination of visual and olfactory works. This is an attempt to delve deeper into sensory consciousness in a state where both refer to each other. In this exhibition, the works are presented in the form of a composite, where there is a certain tacit understanding between canvases, much like the relationship between perception and memory—interrelated yet independent. There is no specific order in reading, and the trajectory of the gaze projects the individual consciousness beyond the constraints of time and space, forming a close connection with the viewer's own consciousness.
As the mist of overlapping memories and reality gradually dissipates, the settling emotions paradoxically sharpen the outlines of things. Bathed in the light filtering through the dissipated mist, a calm inner self stands, much like mountain ranges silently towering amid the ever-changing emotional mist. Thoughts hide during the mountain mist and rain, yet during the clearing rain after the initial drizzle, they can brilliantly reflect a profound response to reality in the radiance of sunlight.
